Litter League organizes cleanup of the Grove

Marlborough - The Marlborough Litter League (MLL), a committee of the Marlborough Community Development Corporation (MCDC), a community-based nonprofit, will hold a Community Cleanup at the Grove (city park located on Fort Meadow Reservoir, parking lot on Bolton Street) Saturday Aug. 18 from 9 to 11 a.m.

Residents are encouraged to join in the cleanup of one of Marlborough's most enjoyed recreational parks. Tools, gloves, bags will be provided by the Marlborough Department of Public Works and MLL. Participants should wear appropriate clothing.

From 11 a.m. to noon, following the cleanup, participants will be treated to hot dogs, burgers, salads and drinks. They will also be given an opportunity to learn more about Marlborough conservation land from one of Marlborough's Conservation Commission members. Participants should bring folding chairs for the lunchtime activities, and whatever else they want for field activities (ball gloves, Frisbees, etc.).

All are welcome. An RSVP would be appreciated for food planning, but is not required. Call Trish Settles, executive director of MCDC, at 508-408-4118 or postoffice@ marlboroughcdc.org or contact MLL chair Brian Palmer at 508-863-0231.
