Power appointed to FLIC board

Diane Power, the first female Executive Director for the law firm of Mirick O'Connell, has been appointed to the newly formed Female Leadership Interest Council, Inc. (FLIC), as one of its Advisory Board members. FLIC is a nonprofit organization founded on the principles of female leadership, mentoring and the belief that "when you can help someone else succeed, you personally grow and prosper." The Council's mission is to provide educational instruction to women to assist in developing their capabilities in the business world, which will increase the likelihood that their successes will benefit the community. 'I Lost it at the Club!' program starts Jan. 7

This winter, Shrewsbury Health & Racquet Club will kick off a program designed to further assist its members to achieve success in their individual fitness programs. "I Lost It at the Club!" is an 8-week motivational weight loss program coordinated by the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA), and is designed to kick-start the renewed exercise programs of existing club members who might have taken time off for the holidays and new members alike. The program will begin Jan. 7 and end in March. Participants in the program will receive activity cards designed to make every workout different and fun and periodic newsletters filled with useful information and exercise tips. Normant joins Marlborough Savings Bank

Marlborough Savings Bank (MSB) is pleased to announce the addition of Joseph J. Normant Jr. as Chief Financial Officer. He is responsible for the financial reporting and internal controls, as well as the investment management portfolio and liquidity management of the bank. Normant began his financial career as a Staff Auditor at Shatswell, Macleod & Co., P.C. upon graduation from Merrimack College with a B.S. in Accounting. He also received his M.S. in Finance from Bentley College. Most recently, he was the Vice President and Controller at the former Westborough Bank before joining MSB in 2007. An Adult Student Exhibition will be held Thursday, Jan. 10, from 5:30-7 p.m., at the Higgins Education Wing at Worcester Art Museum. No RSVPs are required.
