A base hit

Northborough/Southborough – Algonquin Regional High's Sam Bush singles to right-center field during the Tomahawks' baseball game against Leominster in Northborough May 22. Algonquin, which won the game, 4-2, was led by Matt Lupien, who homered and drove in two runs, and Mike Pelland, who singled twice.

On this play, Bush was involved in a wacky series of events, which ended up with him eventually attempting to steal home only to be tagged out by Leominster catcher Chris Carrigan. The Tomahawks, who have advanced to the Division 1 state final in each of the last two seasons – winning the crown in 2006 – headed to the playoffs with an 18-2 regular-season record.
