Woman's Club thanks community for support

To the Editor:

The Westborough Woman's Club would like to thank the community for their participation in our collection drive for Abby's House in Worcester. We delivered over two hundred seven items of underwear and sox for women, men and children. In addition we collected one hundred and eight towels, face cloths and dish towels for their use. Many people, also, donated kitchen items to the drive. Over seventy-eight pots, pans, kitchen items, mixers, etc., were donated.

It is through the continued support of the local communities that the Westborough Woman's Club is so successful in their community projects. Recently, club members completed their yearly holiday donations to the Massachusetts Veterans Shelter in Worcester. Club members donated two hundred fifty dollars in sports themed shirts, sweatshirts, gloves and scarfs. Veterans will, also, enjoy two hundred seventy-five dollars in gift cards, eighty-five dollars in donations and over one hundred dollars of toiletries items.

The club recycled all their calendars received via mail, etc., to the veteran shelter for use in their apartments and shelters. Over 27 calendars will be given to women and men using the veteran services.

Thank you all very much on behalf of the club members, Massachusetts Veterans Shelter and Abby's House. Judith Wilchynski President Westborough Woman's Club
