Business Description: Founded by the late Alfred J Boutot Jr. in 1978, A&P Insurance Agency is a third-generation family-run independent insurance agency with three offices in Shrewsbury, Uxbridge and Worcester.
Representing several different companies, A&P Insurance offers a personalized experience for all customers. With a team of knowledgeable experienced agents, the company is committed to working closely with customers to customize a policy that is right for their coverage needs, including personal insurance for auto, home, health or life and commercial insurance for property or liability.
What makes your company unique? "We are a true family business," said Anne Marie Perham. "My brothers Michael and Paul, my mother, Catherine Boutot, and my sister, Denise Boutot Bill, all stepped in to run the business when my father passed away 12 years ago. We all grew up in the industry … What we have learned over the years is that everyone's coverage needs are different. I think that our willingness to work one-on-one with each customer to give them the best products for their needs makes us unique."
What are you proud of as a company? "We are dedicated to our customers and the community," Anne Marie said.
As part of A&P Insurance's dedication to the community, they actively participate in various programs like the annual Heart Walk and the Children's Hospital walk to raise money to fund research for congenital heart defects.
How do you help your customers weather changes? "We recommend that everyone review their insurance coverage annually. We meet so many customers who are underinsured, especially on their auto and home insurance."
What is a common misconception in this industry? "To shop for price. There are ways to save money, but you cannot assume that getting the lowest price insurance coverage will adequately cover you in a loss."
