Armed robbery committed in Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury – The Shrewsbury Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Aug. 11 at approximately 12:23 p.m. The robbery occurred at the “Contractor’s Supply” store located at 299 Hartford Tpke. (Rt. 20) in Shrewsbury.

The robber went into the store, demanded cash and was allegedly armed with a handgun. There were no customers in the store at the time of robbery. The robber fled on foot with an undetermined amount of money. No injuries were reported. Shrewsbury Police searched the area along with assistance from the Mass. State Police K-9. The robbery suspect was described as a white male, 5’8” to 5’10”, with a skinny build, wearing a red baseball hat, T-shirt and jeans.
