Westborough – In her first game of the lacrosse season at Westborough High School (WHS), junior midfielder Brigid Bowser scored 4 goals and had 4 assists against Tantasqua Regional High School of Sturbridge.

Four goals and 4 assists are pretty good stats for any player. But Bowser didn's want to talk about the stats.

“The most important part of that day showed that I liked to move the ball and help out my teammates,” she said. “Everyone on this team can score, so it gives everyone an opportunity.”

Bowser started playing sports in the fifth grade, first soccer and then lacrosse the next year. She's now in her sixth year of competitive lacrosse.

Westborough, playing in the Division 1 Mid-Wach A League and coached by Colleen Debish, looks to be a formidable opponent, especially if everyone shares the same selfless attitude.

“She's [Coach Debish] taught us to work as a team and to support your teammates in everything – both on and off the field,” Bowser said.

After graduation she would like to play lacrosse and to potentially pursue a career in international relations and study languages.
