World Thinking Day celebrated in Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury – (l to r) Julia Wiedeman, Millaina Fashjian, Katherine Quinlivan and Emily Anderson from Junior Troop 30143 show off their bejeweled foreheads and henna tattoos from India's booth. Over 100 Shrewsbury Girl Scouts and leaders gathered at Floral Street School to celebrate "World Thinking Day" at the annual International Festival March 5. This is a day when Girl Scouts learn about their sister scouts in other countries. Shrewsbury troops discussed scouting in Canada, India, China, Italy and Switzerland. The girls made crafts, and created posters and treats associated with each of the countries they learned about.  The girls were also given "passports," so they were able to visit booths representing different countries and were able to get their passports stamped and learn more about other nations" traditions.
