Shrewsbury Saheli to kick off fall session with book discussionShrewsbury – The first meeting of Shrewsbury Saheli group's fall session will be held Sunday Sept. 18, from 2 to 4:30 p.m., at Shrewsbury Public Library. The program is a literary book discussion on “Palace of Illusions by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni.” Priya Rathnam, Reference Librarian at Shrewsbury Library, will conduct the discussion.

Do you want to read the story of the Mahabharata, written in Draupadi's perspective? Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni has spun a fascinating tale in “Palace of Illusions” with Draupadi as the narrator. Draupadi comes across as a strong, but impulsive character who could have controlled her destiny and changed the course of events. Her relationship with the Pandavas, Kunti, Krishna and Karna is described with sensitivity in the thoroughly enjoyable read.

The Shrewsbury Saheli group will also have author Chitra Divakaruni call in to the meeting at 2:30 p.m. ,via Skype, for a Q&A session. Light refreshments will be served.

Those interested in attending should RSVP by e-mailing [email protected] or calling 1-508-925-0445.
