Marlborough – John Sahagian Jr., 49, died Saturday morning, Dec. 24, 2011 after a short period of failing health.

He was born in Framingham, the son of John Sr. and Patricia (Donahue) Sahagian of Marlborough, and lived most of his life in Marlborough and Cape Cod. He attended Marlborough public schools and was employed as a mechanic, formerly working at Wayside Ford in Marlborough and Colonial Dodge in Hudson, and lastly operating his own mechanic business on Cape Cod.

Mr. Sahagian was a member of the Italian American War Veterans Post #45 of Marlborough and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3565 of Marlborough. He was an avid fisherman and had a longtime passion for photography.

Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother, Matthew Sahagian of Marlborough; two sisters, Eileen Colburn of Ayer and Maggie Sahagian of Daytona Beach, Fla.,; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to gather in Mr. Sahagian's memory Friday evening, Dec. 30, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home (www.shortfuneral.com), 95 West Main St., Marlborough. Funeral services and burial will be private.
