Shrewsbury Garden Club holds plant sale, garden expo May 19

Shrewsbury – The Shrewsbury Garden Club is busy preparing for this year's annual plant sale, to be held Saturday, May 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Shrewsbury Senior Center. As in the past, the garden club will be selling annuals, perennials, hanging baskets, geraniums, herbs, vegetables, and, new this year, cemetery baskets.

Also new this year is the addition of a garden expo. Shoppers will be able to learn about square foot gardening, how to plant a show stopper container garden, how to control mosquitoes and ticks, drought tolerant lawns, composting, recycling, water harvesting, friendly pesticides, and more.

Those bringing a donation to the St. Anne's Human Services Food Pantry will receive a free plant.

The Shrewsbury Senior Center is located at 98 Maple Ave. For more information, email Hymedomaid@yahoo.com.
