Marlborough – Roy I. Estabrook, 95, died Thursday, June 28, 2012, after a short period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Ann E. (Reid) Estabrook, who died in 2005. They were married for 65 years.

He was born in Lancaster, the son of the late Herbert and Florence (Hart) Estabrook, and lived in Marlborough for 35 years. He also spent time living in Hubbardston.

He was employed as a concrete contractor and, along with his sons, owned and operated Roy Estabrook and Sons Construction for almost 20 years.

Mr. Estabrook was a long time member of the former Marlborough Kiwanis Club, and was active in the Hubbardston Historical Society and the Marlborough Historical Society of which he was a founding member. He was a former member of the Immaculate Conception Parish, where he served as treasurer of the Holy Name Society.

He is survived by two sons, David Estabrook and his wife, Donna, of Marlborough and Stephen Estabrook of Millbury; two daughters, Elizabeth Estabrook and her husband, Stanley Alisauskas, of Hubbardston and Catherine Sartorelli and her husband, Stephen, of Auburn, N.H.; six grandchildren, Michael and Mark Estabrook, Erin, Scott and Kelly Purcell Estabrook, and Andrew Sartorelli; and one great-grandchild, Michael Estabrook. He was predeceased by a grandson, Matthew Sartorelli.

His funeral will be held Monday, July 2, at 11:00 a.m., in the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home www.shortfuneral.com), 95 West Main St., Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. An hour of visitation will be held on Monday morning from 10 to11 a.m. prior to the service.
