Before the parade, the team sponsored by former state Rep. Danielle Gregorie, D-Marlborough (far left) - consisting of Adam Childs, Kelly Russell and Nicole Bennetto - competes in the Marlborough Lions Club's annual Bed Race, part of the city's Labor Day activities. Each sponsored team pushed hospital beds to the finish line at City Hall, with proceeds going to the club's charitable endeavors. Gregorie, a Democratic candidate in the Sept. 6 primary to represent the 4th Middlesex District, marched in the parade a few hours after the race.
Hours after the Marlborough Lions Club began the city's Labor Day activities with the annual Bed Race, club members continue the festivities by riding on a float.
