George E. Morin, 88Lunenburg – George E. Morin, 88, formerly of Marlborough, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012 at his home in Lunenburg. Born in Marlborough, he was the son of the late Ludger and Alma L. (Morel) Morin and the husband of the late Georgette M. (Fricault) Morin who died January 16, 2004.

He had been a lifelong Marlborough resident until moving to Lunenburg in 2011.

He was a former member of the Immaculate Conception Parish, Marlborough, and the American Legion Akroyd-Houde Post #132 of Marlborough.

A veteran of World War II, Mr. Morin served in the US Army Air Force. He had been employed for John A. Frye Company for a number of years and retired from The Raytheon Corporation in 1988, after 30 years, most recently as Manager of Inventory Control for the Waltham Equipment Division.

Following his retirement, he owned and operated GEM Trophies & Awards Company of Marlborough until December 2011. The company is now under the management of his daughter and son-in-law, Holly and John, in Pepperell.

He is survived by his daughters, Donna Morin and Holly De Groote and her husband John, all of Lunenburg; his son, Ronald Morin and his wife Jeanne, of Mont Vernon, NH; his grandson, Kyle Morin of Mont Vernon, NH; and his sister, Barbara Sullivan of Hudson. He was also the father of the late Marcia Morin.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 11:00 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Sreet, Marlborough. Visiting hours will be held Monday, Sept, 17, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough.
