Southborough police log, Sept. 28 edition

Southborough

Monday, Sept. 17
6:22 a.m. A Flagg Road resident notified police that a large tree was down and completely blocking Flagg Road. The DPW was notified and removed the tree from the roadway.
7:14 a.m. A motorist from Upton was issued a Criminal Application for operating a motor vehicle after license suspension and failure to inspect a motor vehicle.
9:05 a.m. Officers investigated a two car, motor vehicle accident on Turnpike Road. There were reports of injuries at the scene of the accident.
11:00 a.m. Officers investigated a report of a suspicious motor vehicle on Parkerville Road. The vehicle left the area prior to the officers arriving on scene.
1:38 p.m. A motorist reported finding a bicycle on Main Street. The responding officer took custody of the bicycle at the scene.
5:16 p.m. Officers responded to a Framingham Road residence for a report of two suspicious males. The resident reported that the two males knocked on her door and then asked to use a metal detector on her property. After she declined, the males left the area. The responding officer checked the area, but was unable to locate the male parties.
9:23 p.m. Officers investigated a suspicious motor vehicle parked in the Finn School parking lot. The responding officer made contact with the owner of the vehicle, and everything checked out o.k.

Tuesday, Sept. 18

5:40 a.m. A resident of Charles Court called to report that their garage door had just opened and closed. The responding officer checked the area, and there was no sign of criminal activity.

7:08 a.m. Officers responded to a three car, motor vehicle accident on Turnpike Road. No injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.

9:00 a.m. A resident of Watkins Lane reported that someone threw a glass bottle at their residence (broken glass). The responding officer was able to determine that a light-bulb had blown out and caused the broken glass.

12:45 p.m. Officers investigated a report of two suspicious males sitting in a motor vehicle on Middle Road. The responding officer spoke with the two males, and they both checked out o.k.

2:07 p.m. Officers investigated a two car, motor vehicle accident on Main Street. No injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.

2:47 p.m. Officers responded to a Liberty Drive residence for a report of a Burglary at the home. Unknown suspects propped a ladder against the back of the home, and were able to gain access to a second story (unsecured) window. The detective unit is currently investigating this incident, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Det. Sean McCarthy at (508) 485-2121.

8:28 p.m. Officers on patrol checked on a suspicious motor vehicle with two individuals inside. Both parties checked out o.k.

8:41 p.m. A Richards Road resident reported hearing suspicious noises outside of her home. The responding officer checked the area and determined that it was falling debris from the storm.

Wednesday, Sept. 19

12:51 a.m. A resident of Meadow Lane reported that a male party was looking in their window. Responding officers checked the area, but were unable to locate anyone in the area.

4:17 a.m. While on Crestview Drive, officers observed a tree down in the roadway. The DPW was notified.

6:04 a.m. A tree was reported down and resting on the wires on High Ridge Road. National Grid was notified and responded to the area.

9:14 a.m. Arrested, Monea Blount of Mechanic Street, Marlborough, on an active arrest warrant out of Somerville District Court for failure to pay fines.

2:22 p.m. Officers responded to Gilmore Road after a resident reported a suspicious person taking pictures of their home with a cell phone. The individual had left the area prior to the responding officer's arrival.

3:44 p.m. A motorist from Fitchburg reported that a waste management truck struck low tree branches on Fisher Road, causing the branches to fall on and damage his vehicle. The responding officer took a report of the incident.

4:58 p.m. A motorist from Acton was issued a Criminal Application for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a stop sign violation.

6:14 p.m. Officers investigated a three car, motor vehicle accident on Turnpike Road. No injuries were reported from the scene of the accident.

8:20 p.m. Officers investigated a report of a suspicious motor vehicle on Moore Road. The operator was located and it was determined that they were lost.

10:45 p.m. A Marlboro Road resident reported being followed home by another motor vehicle. The resident confronted the other operator, who soon left the area after a brief exchange. The responding officer took a report of the incident and checked the area.

Thursday, Sept. 20

8:10 a.m. Officers responded to Edgewood Road for a report of a B & E to several motor vehicles in resident's driveway. Some loose change and a skate board were reported missing from the vehicles. The responding officer took a report, and the incident has been forwarded to the Detective Unit.

8:18 a.m. Officers responded to an Oregon Road residence for another report of a B & E to a motor vehicle parked at the residence. It was determined that change was missing from the motor vehicle.

1:58 p.m. Officers conducted a requested well-being check on a Mitchell Street resident.

5:03 p.m. Officers investigated a report of a suspicious motor vehicle on Parkerville Road. The vehicle was later located, and the individuals inside checked out o.k.

6:43 p.m. Officers investigated a report of a B & E to a motor vehicle at an Edgewood Road residence. The resident reported that nothing appeared to have been taken from the vehicle. A locked vehicle in the driveway was not disturbed. The responding officer took a report on the incident.

7:32 p.m. Arrested, Bruce Davidson of High Street, Southborough, for OUI alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Friday, Sept. 21

4:49 a.m. A resident reported three suspicious vehicles parked at a construction site on Newton Street. The responding officer reported back that the individuals were workers at the job site.

7:30 a.m. A motorist reported a suspicious red truck parked on the side of Woodland Road. The responding officer reported back that the truck and the individuals inside checked out o.k.

11:08 a.m. Officers investigated a two car, motor vehicle accident on Cordaville Road. Injuries were reported from the scene of the accident.

11:23 a.m. An officer on patrol checked on a suspicious motor vehicle parked on Cordaville Road. The vehicle and the occupant checked out o.k.

12:42 p.m. Officers investigated a report of two suspicious males walking on Hubley Lane. Both individuals were located and checked out o.k.

5:16 p.m. A resident of Wentworth Drive came into the station to report a possible theft from their property. The responding officer took a report of the incident, and a follow-up investigation is being conducted.

5:50 p.m. Officers investigated a one car, motor vehicle accident on Woodland Road. No injuries were reported from the scene of the accident.

9:33 p.m. Officers investigated a report of an attempted fraud at a Highland Street residence. The responding officer took a report of the incident.

The information from the police log is obtained directly from the official records maintained at each police station in our circulation area. It contains arrests and samplings of police activity. Those arrested are innocent until proven guilty. The Community Advocate will publish news of acquittals upon notification and a copy of court-issued documentation.
