Shrewsbury – Hundreds of people did not let the chilly, overcast weather dampen their enthusiasm from attending today's Spirit of Shrewsbury (SOS) expo at the Oak Middle School.

U.S. Sen. Scott Brown, R, also attended the event, much to the excitement of a large number of his supporters who were in attendance.

Before touring the venue, he praised the work of the many volunteers who helped to organize the event as well as the various groups who participated.

“This is a great event,” he said. “Keep up the good work Shrewsbury!”

Brown then graciously posed for pictures, signed autographs and shook the many hands held out to him as he walked around the entire expo.

Also making an appearance at the expo was state Rep. Matthew Beaton, R-Shrewsbury and U.S. Rep. James McGovern, D- 3rd District. Brown, Beaton and McGovern are all running for re-election this year.
