Shrewsbury – The Shrewsbury High School (SHS) Alumni Association recently held an All-Class Reunion at the Italian American Victory Club. Graduates from many different classes reunited to socialize and share memories.

Since 1993, the SHS Alumni Association has worked to promote the involvement of graduates in the local schools and community. President, Treasurer and Webmaster Jude Donahue, class of “68, said that the group was started at the urging of her father, Jim Donahue, class of “40. Former Superintendent John Collins, and James Cunavelis of the Worcester Telegram and Gazette helped encourage the formation of the association. The alumni group celebrated its 19th anniversary this October.

Since then the alums have contributed over $60,000 to a Student Grants Program, created an alumni database of over 17,000 graduates, and funded scholarships. Part of their mission statement reads, “to promote the best interests of the schools and community by fostering enthusiasm, involvement and close relationships.”

For more information, to plan a reunion, or to be added to the database, go to www.shrewsburyalumni.org.

Alums brought in their yearbooks to add to the display and let attendees search for classmates and teachers resulting in much laughter and many stories about their teen years.
