Shrewsbury – The Sunday season is growing at the Shrewsbury Public Library.? With donations received to date, generous sponsors have assured that the library will be open at least 20 Sundays afternoons this season, from 1 to 5 p.m., through mid-March 2013.

This is great news for the adults, families, students and others who use the library to catch up on work or homework assignments, connect to the free Wi-Fi, read recent newspapers or magazines, learn about free downloadable eBooks or magazines, use the Early Learning Discovery computers, or just spend time picking out books, audio books or DVDs. Community groups who use the meeting rooms are also appreciative of access to the facility on Sundays.

Current sponsors who have provided this service to the community include: providing three Sundays: Mel and Sandra Cutler; providing two Sundays: Olive I. and Anthony A. Borgatti Jr. Donor Advised Fund of the Greater Worcester Community Foundation; and? providing one Sunday each: Shrewsbury Social Club, Wei Kong Yeoh and Yubin Liang, In Memory of James A. Heedles, Shrewsbury Child Development Committee, Selectman John Lebeaux and Selectman Moira Miller, Polito Development Corp., Webster Five Cents Savings Bank, Laurie and Matt Hogan, St. Mary's School 4th Grade Students, in conjunction with the Victor Quartana Post 397, Rotary Club of Shrewsbury, Shrewsbury Garden Club, Shrewsbury Firefighter's Association, and three anonymous donors, one who made their gift “In honor of the Library Staff.”

There are still sponsorship slots available, to help maintain the full season through May 2013. Interested parties can contact Library Director Ellen Dolan at 508-841-8537 for further information or to arrange a sponsorship.
