Victim in Marlborough house explosion has died

Marlborough – The State Fire Marshal's office and the Marlborough Fire Department released this joint statement this afternoon:

State Fire Marshal Stephen D. Coan and Marlborough Fire Chief James Fortin announced that the victim of the October 28, 2012 explosion at 15 Grant Court in Marlborough has died.

The explosion is being investigated by the Marlborough Fire and Police Departments and State Police assigned to the Office of the State Fire Marshal. The investigation revealed that the gas infrastructure inside or outside the home did not contribute to the incident and no malfunction or defect of the gas appliances in the home was detected.

The incident was investigated by the Marlborough Fire and Police Departments and State Police assigned to the Office the State Fire Marshal. Assistance was received from the state Department of Public Utilities.
