Hudson – Carlos A. Garcia, 52, of Hudson, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Genoveva (Cabral) Garcia of Hudson.
Carlos was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, son of the late Clarimundo Garcia, and is survived by his mother, Ondina (Silva) Garcia of Brazil. He had resided in Hudson the past 14 years, and was employed as a laborer with Jimmy Margueritte Construction Co. of Hopedale. He was a member of Local 609 Concrete Workers Union of Framingham.
Carlos enjoyed taking frequent trips on his motorcycle, and was a member of the Brazilian Moto Clube, a group of motorcycle enthusiasts who gathered for many memorable rides throughout the years. He was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his son, Thales Garcia of Brazil; his daughter, Thais Garcia of Brazil; his two step-daughters, Felicia Soares and Kelly Soares, both of Clinton; his brother, Jose Garcia of Brazil; and his sister, Vera Reboleo of Brazil. He is also survived by his two loving grandchildren, Dante Loftis and Gianna Narvaez, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Jan. 4, at 9:00 a.m., in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will be held at a later date in Brazil. Family and friends may attend calling hours Thursday, Jan. 3, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Carlos may be made to the Marlborough Hospital Cancer Center, 157 Union St., Marlborough, MA 01752.
