Community Chorus presents music scholarships

Westborough – This year, The Westborough Community Chorus has awarded music scholarships to 12 local middle and high school students at the annual Winter Show. The recipients were: Nicole Bates, grade 7, voice; Rachel Kaufman, grade 8, flute; Chloe Reske, grade 12, voice; Lucy Ran Song, grade 12, flute; Scott McCullough, grade 9, piano; John Byrne, grade 10, bassoon; Ethan DiPilato, grade 11, piano; Hailey Erb, grade 8, piano; Joe Aronson, grade 10, alto sax; Mark Aronson, grade 11, clarinet; Matthew Pascarella, grade 7, clarinet; and John Pascarella, grade 9, cello.

For over 40 years, the Westborough Community Chorus has provided scholarships for private music lessons to students in town dedicated to music, based on musical ability and need. Funds are provided by ticket sales and fundraisers, as well as private and corporate donations. These programs are supported in part, by the Westborough Cultural Council.
