Westborough – Frances M. Powers, 86, of Westborough, passed away Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013 at the UMass Memorial Healthcare- University Hospital in Worcester. She was the wife of the late Bernard C. Powers.
Born in Oxford, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances (Polubinskas) Katunas. She was educated in Holden schools and attended Worcester State Teachers College. She was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church and had lived in Westborough most of her life.
Frances was a public school teacher for many years with the Northborough Public School System.
She is survived by a nephew, Gary Katunas and his wife, Denise, and their daughter, Laura, of Chicago, Illinois, and a sister-in-law, Virginia Katunas of Buzzards Bay. She was the sister of the late Walter Katunas.
Her funeral Mass was celebrated Jan. 7 in St. Luke the Evangelist Church of Westborough, with burial in St. Luke's Cemetery.
