Southborough – Jean Scott-Conti, 83, of Southborough died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, surrounded by her loving family, at Beaumont Rehab & Skilled Nursing Center in Westborough.

She leaves her husband of 58 years, Paul J. Conti; her sons, Mark A. Conti and his wife Susan E. of Southborough, P. Scott Conti and his wife Jeannie of Marlborough, and David W. Conti and his life partner Sheila M. Daly of Shrewsbury and W. Roxbury, and three grandchildren, Elizabeth E., Emily J. Conti, and Peter J. Conti.

Born in in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Ernest D. and Beatrice (Leonard) Scott. She was a graduate of North High School and Salter Secretarial School, and also attended Northeastern University.

While working at the Youth Guidance Center in Worcester, Jean met and married Army Lt. Paul J. Conti and spent the next two years with him stationed in Neu Ulm, Germany, where their first son, Mark, was born.

Jean was a longtime member of St. Mark's Church in Southborough, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She also served on the altar guild, Bargain Box, and many church fairs.

She was an honorary member and past President of Southborough Gardeners, and a member of the Lyscomb Reading group, along with being a past member of PEO, Worcester Country Club.

Jean cherished her role as wife, mother, and grandmother. Her primary focus in life was the welfare of her family. Favorite pastimes included cooking, gardening, golfing, summers on Cape Cod, seasonal visits to their condo in Lincoln, N.H., and extensive travel to Europe and the Caribbean.

She touched the lives of many and will be missed by all who knew her for her warmth,, compassion, strength, and wisdom.

Visiting hours will be held Monday, Jan. 14, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Southborough. Funeral and burial will be private.
