Marlborough – Mary Jo Nawrocki, the Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School (AVRTHS) superintendent/director, has announced that she is retiring at the end of the school year.
Nawrocki has been with Assabet for 38 years. After serving as a teacher, she was named as principal in 2004 and then superintendent in 2009.
“I was told that when you'se ready, you'sl know it. It's been a great career, with occasional speed bumps and potholes that I had to go through or around. But it's time. I's ready, even though I know I'sl miss the students and staff. I's beginning to look forward to “life after Assabet”” she said in a press release.
The Community Advocate will be posting an interview with the superintendent later this week.
