Doris M. Aspinwall, 92Northborough – Doris M. (Smith) Aspinwall, 92, passed away peacefully Monday, March 11, 2013 at Beaumont of Westborough, with Diane at her bedside. Her devoted husband, Walter F. Aspinwall died in 1998.

She leaves her loving daughter, Diane M. Aspinwall, with whom she lived. She also leaves her lovely black cat, Maxie.

Born and raised in Marlborough, daughter of George and Clara (Boynton) Smith, Doris moved to Northborough in 1957. She graduated from Marlborough High School in 1938.

She worked at the former Chase Paper Company in Westborough as a credit collector for eight years, retiring in 1985. Years ago, she volunteered at town meetings and polling for precinct #1.

Doris was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and a longtime member of Trinity Church. She enjoyed the Red Sox, flowers, gardening, traveling, and spending time at home with Diane.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 14, from 4 to 7 p.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. Northborough. Doris” funeral will be held Friday, March 15, at 11:30 a.m., in the funeral home officiated by her good friend and neighbor, Dr. Richard Martino. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery of Marlborough.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Baypath Humane Society of Hopkinton, 5 Rafferty Rd., Hopkinton, MA 01748.
