How did you get started?
“This business is brand new, started in December, but the experience is not brand new. I'se been doing this kind of work for 10 years, and Rich has been doing it for over 30 years,” said Christopher McLagan, who, with his partner, Richard Lyon, owns New England Home Improvement.
“We felt we would do well with my experience in sales and Chris's in project management,” Lyon added. “My specialty is design and build, from start to finish.”
What services do you provide?
“We design and build remodels, new construction, additions, roofing and siding, replace windows and doors, painting, tiling??”whatever your house needs.” McLagan said.
“We offer single-point accountability, handling all phases of the project, from the design concept and permits right through to the completion of the project. We have our own guys plus a large pool of subcontractors I'se developed over the years, so your project will be done in the most efficient way without sacrificing quality,” Lyon said.
How does someone get started on a project?
“We come out and consult with the homeowners. We get to know their concerns, their wants and needs, and look at the home's architecture, age, style. We will give them our best direction on what works and what is affordable. We work within their budget,” Lyon said. “When the addition is done and people look at the house, I want it to look like the addition has always been there.”
Where do you work?
“We work all over New England??”Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts,” McLagan said.
What sets your company apart?
“Quality and fair pricing. We tell the customer straight out that, if you want price over quality, we'se not the people for you. If people give you a cheap price, they'se not going to be able to afford quality materials and workers,” McLagan said.
“We offer great warranties, including a 10-year structural warranty because we'se so confident in what we do. If anything happens in 10 years, we will come back and fix it.”
“We have an outstanding roofing crew,” Lyon said. “We'sl get your roof done in two days, and if we don's, we'sl give you $2,000 back. That includes any repairs to the soffits and making sure the venting works to prevent mold and mildew in the attic. We use a combination of ice and water barrier and the proper insulation at the bottom of the eaves to prevent ice buildup.”
