Westborough – Joe Lawrence won the silver medal in his age category at the Giant Slalom ski race finals for the Northeast Alpine Vertical Challenge March 23 at Okemo Mountain in Vermont. The race brought 1,100 finalists from all over the Northeast to compete.
Joe qualified for the finals by winning a silver medal at the Vertical Challenge Race held in February at Ski Ward.
Joe is a freshman at Westborough High School and a member of the school's race team.
“I had great support from my coach Diane Romano, my friends and from the guys at Boston Ski and Tennis who tune my skis,” he said. “It was a lot of fun and I can’t wait for next year.”
