“Who's on first?”

cartoon 4.12.13 rsNorthborough – It appears that baseball has gotten to be a very competitive game in Northborough…both on and off the field.? Although there are only about 50 to 60 players who would qualify by age, there are two organizations competing for those players – the longstanding Northborough Baseball and Softball Association (NBSA) and a new group, Northboro Babe Ruth.

Although NBSA is not a chartered Babe Ruth organization, it does play under those rules. Northboro Babe Ruth is locally-chartered, which its organizers say will give players opportunities such as playing other chartered teams and the ability to participate in sanctioned invitational tournaments.

Complicating matters is the new league was formed by several former members and leaders of NBSA.

In the end though, the game should be all about the kids and everyone is hopeful that the parents will decide to “play ball.”
