Shrewsbury – Shrewsbury Electric and Cable Operations (SELCO) held its eight annual Arbor Day celebration April 27. First, 600 free trees were given to SELCO customers at the Town Common. Among organizations distributing information were the Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project, Sherwood Middle School Green Squad, Shrewsbury Garden Club, Shrewsbury Recycles and United States Department of Agriculture. Next, families were invited to attend an Animal Adventures presentation at the Shrewsbury Public Library. Children had the chance to pet some live animals that are considered tree-friendly.
