Northborough-The Fresh Air Fund will host a meeting Wednesday, June 12, at the Northborough Library, 34 Main St., from 7:00 to 8:30?p.m.?The Fresh Air Fund, an independent, not-for-profit organization, is celebrating its 135th summer of providing free summer vacations to New York inner city children. Through the generosity of host families who open their homes to a child for a week or two during the summer, city children experience the joys of summer in the suburbs. Current and former hosts will share their experiences and answer questions about the program.

Since 1877, The Fresh Air Fund has been giving inner-city children the joy of a summer vacation through the Fresh Air Fund's Friendly Town program. Volunteer host families open their homes to New York City children from low-income communities. Host families are located throughout 13 Northeastern states and Southern Canada, with over 120 children last summer that stayed in our area. Fresh Air youngsters on first-time visits are 6 to 12 years old and stay for up to two weeks.

Refreshments will be served. Parking is available in the rear of the library, off Patty Lane.?For more information, contact Theresa Kane?[email protected] or 978-618-0676.
