Marlborough – Anne Marie (Labbe) Maddox, 66, died Sunday, May 26, 2013 at UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester after a long period of failing health.

She was born in Marlborough, the daughter of Edgar and Lillian (Robert) Labbe, and lived here all most of her life before moving to Hudson a few years ago.

For 20 years, Mrs. Maddox was the owner and operator of Anne Marie's Day Care Center, which later became Auntie Anne's Day Care in Marlborough. She spent many hours driving for the Marlborough Council on Aging, as well as delivering flowers in the Hudson and surrounding areas for a local flower shop. Many hours were spent with her volunteer work for the Recovery Connection and Furnishing Options in Marlborough.

AnneMarie is survived by two nephews, Anthony Braga of New York and Daniel Braga of Leominister, as well as many cousins and friends. She was predeceased by a stepsister, Lorraine Axelson of California, and her niece Maria, and is also survived by her former husband, Thomas Maddox, and his two children Michelle and Thomas. She also was the former wife of the late Manuel Carvalho and Edward Dragon.

Her funeral will be held Thursday, June 6, at 11:00 a.m., in the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home (www.shortfuneral.com), 95 West Main St., Marlborough.Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Marlborough.Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held Thursday from 9 to 10:45 a.m.
