Worcester – Lace up your sneakers and head to Worcester for the 3rd Annual Art beCAUSE Breast Cancer Foundation's 5K Walk/Run, to be Saturday, June 23. Beginning at 10 a.m., joggers, walkers, and strollers will take to the streets of downtown Worcester to raise funds for innovative research on finding the environmental “CAUSEs” of breast cancer, and how breast cancer prevention can be achieved.
The Walk/Run will begin promptly in the parking lot of Ritual Restaurant, 281 Main St., Worcester, and will end at the same location. Timing on the Certified 5K Course will be conducted by the Central Mass Striders, a prominent local running club who host and time runs every weekend throughout the year.
Pre-registration is $25 and available online by clicking this link. T-shirts will be given to the first 300 registrants. Day-of registration is $30 and begins, along with bib/T-shirt pickup, at 9 a.m. at Ritual Restaurant's parking lot.
The Post-run celebration will include an Awards Ceremony with cash prizes for the top male and female finishers: $100 first place, $75 second place, and $50 third place. Exhibitor and sponsor giveaways, live music, family fun activities, and delicious food and drink at Ritual Restaurant will round out the day's festivities.
Proceeds will support the ABCBCF “Seed the Scientists” Program, which supports research on the environmental causes of breast cancer. Art beCAUSE Breast Cancer Foundation will also make a donation to The One Fund.
