Free summer concerts at The Willows

WestborWestborough-icon-for-CA-web-pageough – The Willows at Westborough, 1 Lyman St., begins its free Summer Concert Series for 2013, Wednesday, June 19, at 7:15 p.m.

For the 26th year, the eight weekly concerts, sponsored by SALMON Health and Retirement, will be held in The Willows” Rose Garden Courtyard at the corner of Route 30 and Lyman Street.

Area residents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets; free parking is available across the street at the Hastings School lot.

All concerts are free of charge, open to the public, and families are welcome; pets should be left at home. Concerts begin at 7:15 p.m. sharp, and feature performances by well-known area musical groups. In case of rain, inside seating is reserved for Willows residents and their guests exclusively.

The 2013 concert series will run Wednesday evenings from June 19 through August 7. The performance schedule is as follows: Interborough Community Band, June 19; High Society Orchestra, June 26; Dan Gabel & The Abletones, July 3; Wolverine Jazz Band, July 10; Westwood Swing Band, July 17; Tom Nutile Band, July 24; Fantasy Big Band, July 31; and The Reminisants, August 7.

Refreshments will be available for purchase and donations accepted for the following area nonprofit organizations at the concerts: Westborough Community Chorus, June 19; the 2013 Walk to End Alzheimer's, June 26; Siloam Masonic Lodge Angel Fund, July 3; Westborough Land Trust, July 10; Westborough Historical Society, July 17; Westborough Music Parents Association, July 24; Westborough Cultural Council, July 31; and the Assabet Valley Pastoral Counseling Center, August 7.
