Obit Paula O'DonnellShrewsbury – Paula J. (Joyal) O”Donnell, 66, of Shrewsbury, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of 38 years, William F. O”Donnell died in 1996.

She leaves a son, William F. O”Donnell Jr. and his wife Emily of Bullhead City, Ariz.; a daughter, Susanne O. Broderick and her husband, James of Shrewsbury; two brothers, Edward Joyal of Cornwall, Ontario, Canada and John Joyal of Colchester, Conn.; three sisters, Helen McKiernan of Ausable, N.Y., Mary White of Holly Springs, Ga. and Laura Razzano of Johnstown, N.Y.; her beloved sister-in-law, Peggy Jean O”Donnell of Worcester; seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Kristyn, Taylor, Kendra, John, Trystan, and Megan; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, William, she was predeceased by her son, Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Michael J. O”Donnell.

Paula was born in Ausable Forks, N.Y., daughter of the late Howard J. and Elizabeth (Ashley) Joyal, and attended Ausable High School. She lived in Peru, N.Y. before moving to Worcester and finally residing in Shrewsbury in 1972.

Paula had worked and was known as a “Lunch Lady” for the Shrewsbury Public Schools from 1975 until 1981. She later worked for Price Chopper and the Shrewsbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in the Housekeeping Department.

She was member of Saint Mary's Parish in Shrewsbury, and enjoyed crochet, knitting, reading, traveling and working out crossword puzzles.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Paula's family Monday, July 1, from 4 to 8 p.m., in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. Her funeral will be from the funeral home Tuesday, July 2, with her funeral Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. in Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
