Hudson – Claude G. Bourque, 90, of Hudson, died Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Beaumont Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Westborough. He was the loving husband of the late Eileen (Kennedy) Bourque for 36 years until her death in 1982.
Claude was born and raised in Worcester, son of the late Hercules and Alvine (Pettigrew) Bourque. He attended local schools and was a WWII veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy as a pilot.
Claude was a machinist for many years with the former Lombard Governor Co. in Ashland and later the Digital Equipment Corp. in Maynard until his retirement in 1990.
Besides being a loving father, he was an avid tennis player. He was a member of the Riverside Tennis Club and Charles River Tennis Club. He always looked forward to spending time at the family cottage in Dennis during the summer months.
He is survived by his daughter, Maureen Connor of Hudson; his son, Michael Bourque and his wife Patricia of LaPorte, Texas; his sister, Madeline Thetford of Texas; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Edmond Bourque, who died in November 2012.
A funeral service and celebration of Claude's life will be held Thursday, July 11, at 11:00 a.m., in the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery of Hudson. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Claude may be made to the Hudson Senior Center, 29 Church St., Hudson, MA 01749.
