Obit Gloria LoweMarlborough – Gloria (Guay) Lowe, 80, of Marlborough, died Friday, July 19, 2013 at Reservoir Center, Marlborough.

The daughter of the late Aristide and Mabel (Beauchamp) Guay, Gloria was born in Marlborough and was a lifelong resident. She was the former wife of the late Richard E. Lowe, who died in 2004.

Soon after graduating from St. Ann's Academy in 1951, she began working for Kerrigan Insurance Company in Hudson. After taking time to raise her family she returned to work for L&S Boule Insurance in Marlborough, where she worked until retiring in 1997.

An active member of the former St. Mary's Parish of Marlborough, she served as an officer for Our Lady of the Assumption Guild, sang in the choir and volunteered at the parish bingo. Gloria was fun loving and enjoyed her home on Cape Cod, a friendly card game, a quick joke and the company of her family and good friends.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Lowe and his wife Laurie of Hudson, Peter Lowe and his wife Valerie of Clinton, Gary Lowe and his wife Stacy of Hudson, and Danny Lowe of Northbridge, and her daughter, with whom she had made her home, Ellen Lowe of Marlborough. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Joan Guay of Leominster; her aunt, Adrienne Fortin of Quebec, Canada; and her 10 grandchildren, George, Peter JR., Matt, Chris, Courtney, Zachary, Elise, Jacob, Harrison and Carly, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, July 25, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, July 26, at 10 a.m., at St. Bernadette Church, 266 Main St. (Route 20), Northborough. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Beach Street in Marlborough.
