Shrewsbury – Longtime Shrewsbury residents Nal and Mary (Marley) Santora will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary Thursday, Aug. 1.
The couple were wed in St. Joseph’s Church in Leicester, Mass. Mary is the former Mary E. Marley, daughter of the late John and Helen Marley of Cherry Valley. Nal is the son of the late Nicholas and Antoinette Santora of Worcester. The couple has eight children: Debbie (Hill), Sandra (Weller), Lisa (Appel), Donna (Soucy), Cindy, David, Bill, and Rick. They also have eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Nal is a Korean War veteran and the former owner of Nal’s Paint Center, in Worcester, where he was joined at times by his wife and most of their children. (His son David now owns the store.)
“It was such a treat to work with my mom and dad. They have worked hard all their lives to try to provide for us,” Sandra said.
“My parents are very lucky to still be together and be so much in love. My mom will be 81 on August 26 and my dad 83 in November,” she added. “They have lived a happy, joyful life in Shrewsbury for over 57 years.”
