Obit Linda YoungFranconia, N.H. – Linda M. (Phillips) Young, 71 of Franconia, N.H., formerly of Marlborough, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013 in Shrewsbury Nursing Home after an illness. She was the daughter of the late J. Griffith Phillips and Margery M. (Evernham) Phillips.

She leaves her longtime companion, Ronald Broderick of Franconia, N.H.; her daughters, Heather L. Knight and her husband Christopher of Shrewsbury, Allyson L. Young and her companion David Gauthier of Grafton, and Sara L. Wentworth and her husband Craig of Shrewsbury; a brother, Dr. James Phillips and his wife Nancy of Hawaii; a sister, Pamela Chapman of California; five grandchildren, Benjamin, Madison, Craig Jr., Matthew, and Lucas; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Phillips; sister-in-law, Kathleen Phillips; and brother-in-law, Richard Chapman.

She was born in Lakewood Township, N.J. She graduated from Toms River High School in New Jersey and received her Nursing degree from Mary Hitchcock School of Nursing in New Hampshire. She also worked as an executive secretary at Raytheon in Wayland and as a desktop publisher at IDC in Framingham.

The most important thing in Linda's life was her family, especially her grandchildren; she was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She enjoyed being by the ocean, cooking, word puzzles, and playing card games with her companion.

A memorial service is being planned.
