Southborough police log, Aug. 9 edition

Friday, July 26

12:42 a.m. An officer on patrol checked on a suspicious vehicle parked at a Cordaville Road business. The officer reported back that everything checked out ok.

8:15 a.m. Framingham Police notified Southborough Police of a report of an erratic operator heading towards Southborough on Turnpike Road. Responding Southborough units reported back negative contact with the vehicle.

12:50 p.m. An officer responded to Willow Street with the Fire Department to assist with a recycling truck leaking fluid into the roadway. The road was shut down during the clean-up process, and the truck was towed from the scene by Ted's Auto Body. The road was re-opened shortly after the clean-up was completed.

1:36 p.m. Officers assisted a Southville Road resident with a domestic issue.

4:21 p.m. A medical was reported at a Sadie Hutt Lane residence.

4:45 p.m. Officers investigated a two car, motor vehicle accident on Framingham Road. Injuries were reported from the scene of the accident.

5:55 p.m. Ashland Police advised Southborough Police that a stolen motorcycle was heading into Southborough (towards Route 9). Responding officer reported back that the motorcycle was just stopped by Westborough Police.

6:05 p.m. Officers investigated a one car, motor vehicle accident in the parking lot area of a Turnpike Road business.

8:54 p.m. An officer took a report of a phone scam from a Barn Lane resident.

9:12 p.m. Westborough Police notified Southborough Police of an erratic operator heading towards Southborough on Turnpike Road. Responding officers reported back negative findings of the vehicle.

10:26 p.m. Officer investigated a report of a disturbance at a Ward Road residence. Responding officers reported back that everything checked out ok.

Saturday, July 27

5:58 a.m. A medical was reported at a Learned Street residence.

6:30 a.m. Officers investigated a barking dog complaint on Cordaville Road.

7:07 a.m. An officer assisted a Deerfoot Road resident who was locked outside her motor vehicle.

10:44 a.m. An officer took a vandalism report from a Lyman Street resident.

12:06 p.m. Officers conducted a requested well-being check at an Atwood Street residence.

12:26 p.m. Arrested, Matthew Bates of Newton Street, Southborough. Mr. Bates was charged with operating a motor vehicle after license suspension (2nd offense) and possession of a Class A substance. His passenger was also charged with possession of a Class A substance.

12:44 p.m. Officers investigated a one car, motor vehicle accident on View Hill Road. No injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.

5:44 p.m. An officer took a vandalism report from a Framingham Road resident. The resident's mailbox was vandalized at some point during the night.

10:21 p.m. Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Cordaville Road.

10:22 p.m. Ashland Police requested assistance from Southborough Police by making contact with a Wyndemere Drive resident.

Sunday, July 28

12:21 a.m. Officers investigated an audible alarm in the area of Oak Hill Road.

1:38 p.m. A medical was reported at a Main Street residence.

4:57 p.m. An officer took a vandalism report from a Ledge Hill Road resident.

5:34 p.m. Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Crystal Pond Road business.

6:00 p.m. Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Hickory Road residence.

6:13 p.m. Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Cordaville Road.

Monday, July 29

9:33 a.m. A medical was reported at a Liberty Drive residence.

9:44 a.m. An officer took a larceny report from a Blendon Wood Drive resident. Several items were reportedly taken from the residence. The incident is currently under investigation.

10:42 a.m. Officers responded to the Southborough Medical Group on Newton Street for a report of an out-of-control individual. The individual was located and asked to leave the area.

1:10 p.m. Westborough Police advised Southborough Police of a report of an erratic operator on Southville Road. The driver was located, and everything checked out ok.

1:50 p.m. A medical was reported at a William Onthank Lane residence.

3:18 p.m. Officers responded to Southville Road for a report of an erratic operator. The vehicle left the area prior to the responding officer's arrival.

4:06 p.m. Officers investigated a two car, motor vehicle accident on Turnpike Road.

5:16 p.m. Officers responded to Turnpike Road for a report of an erratic operator in the area. Responding officers reported back that the vehicle had left the area, and Westborough Police was notified.

6:29 p.m. An officer assisted a Turnpike Road resident with a landlord/tenant dispute.

6:50 p.m. An officer on patrol advised a tree across the road on Boston Road. DPW was notified.

The information from the police log is obtained directly from the official records maintained at each police station in our circulation area. It contains arrests and samplings of police activity. Those arrested are innocent until proven guilty. The Community Advocate will publish news of acquittals upon notification and a copy of court-issued documentation.
