Youth commission seeks new member

Westborough large web iconWestborough – The Westborough Youth Commission is seeking one adult member for an open position.?The commission is a nine-member board, composed of five adults and four high school age students, appointed by the Board of Selectmen to identify and advocate for the needs of youths and families in Westborough. The group guides the operation of Westborough Youth and Family Services, a town department whose mission is to provide counseling and support to youths and families, to promote prevention by collaborating with other community agencies, and to provide education and information to enhance the lives of youths and families in Westborough.

Ideal candidates would have professional involvement or volunteer experience in the mental health or human service fields and an interest in assessing and promoting the needs of youths and families in Westborough.?The Youth Commission meets on the second or third Monday of each month from September through June. ?A time commitment of about two hours a month is generally expected as well as attendance at Town Meeting.
