Westborough – Everlenna R. (Sims) Roche, 93, of Westborough, passed away peacefully Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013 at the Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation in Westborough. She was the wife of the late Donald P. Roche.

Born in South Barre, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Middleton) Sims. She was a graduate of Franklin High School and Framingham Business College. She had resided in South Barre, Bellingham, and Hudson before moving to Westborough in 1942, where she resided at the Lyman School for Boys and was employed as a senior clerk-stenographer for the Department of Youth Services of Massachusetts. At the time of her retirement in 1982, Evie was a secretary-stenographer at Pexco in Northborough.

She was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church, a member of St. Luke's Senior Adults and the Martha's and Mary's. She also was an active member of the Westborough Senior Center, volunteered for SMOC, served meals, enjoyed bingo, and was the weekly caller at the games. She also enjoyed bowling and was the secretary for the Westborough Senior Citizens Bowling League for many years. She also wrote a weekly bowling column for the Westborough Chronotype.

Evie is survived by three daughters, Joan E. Banks of Westborough, Linda A. Bertrand and her husband Robert of Westborough, and Eileen M. Heyn of North Grafton; two sisters, Mary Millett and her husband Charles of Hudson and Jean Almada and her husband Manuel of Dennis; a sister-in-law, Ruth Sims of W. Dennis, and a brother-in-law, Richard Roche and his wife Margaret of Westborough; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late William Sims.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Aug. 30, at 10:30 a.m., in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Luke's Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the funeral Mass from 9 – 10 a.m. at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.
