MasonicWestborough – Norman H. Bennett, 86, of Arundel, Maine, formerly of Westborough, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013. He was the husband of Elaine M. (Levia) Bennett.

Born in Westborough, he was the son of the late Elmer and Pearl (Hunter) Bennett. He was educated in Westborough schools and graduated from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in Boston.

Mr. Bennett was employed as a pharmacist at the V. A. Hospital in West Roxbury for 30 years. Previously, he worked as a pharmacist at the former Town Pharmacy in Westborough.

He was a member of The Congregational Church of Westborough, the Siloam Lodge AF & AM and a former member of the Westborough Players Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Norma-Jean Bennett of Arundel, Maine; one step-son, Philip Bayrouty of Westborough; one brother, Elmer Bennett Jr. of Centerville; five grandchildren, Haley, John, Kara, Danny and Sara; two great grandchildren, Olivia and Liam; and two nephews. He was the step-father of the late Doug Bayrouty.

His funeral service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 10 a.m., in the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday, Sept. 10, from 5 – 7 p.m. Members of Siloam Lodge will conduct a Masonic Service at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
