Algonquin boys” hockey defeats Marlborough

Marlborough – The Marlborough High School Panthers hosted the Algonquin Regional High School Tomahawks for a non-league boys’ hockey game at the Navin Arena Jan. 22.

The first period was a draw, ending at 0-0 as both teams battled evenly.? In the opening minutes of the second period however, the Tomahawks’ Ian Kosovsky scored (assist by Dylan Connelly). A few minutes later teammate Alex DiPadua made it 2-0 (assist by Matt Tozeski).

Algonquin maintained its momentum to start the third period with Diego Chamberlain scoring at the 1:36 mark (assist by Jack Mullin).? Connelly scored a few minutes later (assist by Zach Foster).? The Panthers woke up after that and in approximately a one minute span scored twice. ?Jameson Flynn scored (assist by Jake Chiasson) and then Flynn returned the favor by assisting on a Chiasson goal.

Algonquin head coach Andrew McGowan called a timeout to settle his troops and shortly after Algonquin's Mullin sealed the 5-2 victory (assists by Connelly and Lucas Bautz).
