Marlborough – Twelve Marlborough High School student-musicians recently participated in the Central District Senior Festival, and five of them received All-State recommendations to move on to the state level.

According to Marlborough Public Schools Music Coordinator Jonathan Rosenthal, the 12 juniors and seniors represent the school's “very best” student-musicians. They performed Jan. 18 at Worcester's Mechanics Hall where Lauren Fay, Brian Stangle, Taylor Terrasi, David Coughlin, and Connor Bailey received All-State recommendations. The five competed at the Jan. 25 All-State auditions.

The following musicians participated: chorus: soprano Alana Paul, alto Lauren Fay, tenor Zachary Noel, and bass Brian Stangle; band: Taylor Terrasi (alto saxophone), Michael Rambridge (clarinet), Jordan Brown (trumpet), Sarah Hanahan (alto saxophone), and Mark Chisholm (euphonium); orchestra: David Coughlin (trombone) and Gregory Konar (string bass); and Jazz Ensemble: Connor Bailey (trumpet).
