Obit Norma ChaniMarlborough – Norma V. Chani, 77, of Marlborough, died Thursday, March 6, 2014 at MetroWest Medical Center, Framingham. She was the longtime love of Robert L. Agolia for 34 years.

She was born, raised, and educated in Marlborough, the daughter of the late Peter R. and Dhimitra (Malaveci) Chani, and was a 1954 graduate of Marlborough High School, where she played on the softball, basketball, and track teams.

Norma worked for Chrysler Corporation in Natick, Mansfield and Tappan, N.Y. for over 30 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of the Albanian Orthodox Church of the Annunciation in Natick.

She enjoyed travelling, swimming, tennis, dancing, bowling, and cooking. She was generous, caring and very active as a volunteer to the elderly of the community.

She leaves many nephews and nieces, including William R. Chani of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. and Lory Chani of La Verne, Calif., Randi Chani of Highland, Calif., Peter Chani of Corydon, Ind., Christopher Chani of Hillsborough, N.H., and Stephan Chani of Manchester, N.H.? She was predeceased by her siblings, Louis, George, William, Alexander, and Kostandino.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 12, at 11:00 a.m., in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln St, Marlborough. Burial will follow in Dell Park Cemetery of Natick. A time of visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. All are invited to sign Norma's online guestbook at www.collinsfuneral.com.
