Northborough – The Northborough girls” eighth-grade travel team made it to the finals of the Metrowest Basketball Tournament. After winning in the semifinals against Mansfield 24-12, they were defeated by Waltham 38-27 in the final game March 16 at Mass Premier Courts in Foxborough. The team, with a 6-6 record, was the Group 5 runner-up. Eleven teams from Northborough competed, both boys and girls from fourth to eighth grade. The eighth-grade girls were the only Northborough team to advance to the finals.

“These girls worked so hard to get to where we got in the playoffs,” Coach Kelly Scangas said. “I could not have asked for a better team.”
