Westborough – The Westborough School Committee has announced that it has chosen Amber Bock to become the next school superintendent. Bock, who will begin her tenure July 1, will replace Marianne O”Connor who is retiring after 35 years as an educator and administrator.
Bock is currently the assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction in Weston. She and the other two finalists, Jean Fitzgerald, superintendent of the Watertown Public Schools and Michael Welch, principal of Framingham High School, underwent an extensive round of interviews with school committee members, school personnel and members of the community.
“Mrs. Bock is a thoughtful, articulate and collaborative leader who will build on Westborough's current strong educational system and continue to move the district forward,” the school committee said in a press release. “We hope you will join us in welcoming Mrs. Bock this summer.”
