Honoring fallen veterans

SH Flags for our fallen rsShrewsbury – Nearly 2,000 ?U.S. flags were planted over the Memorial Day weekend near the Heberts Candy Mansion on Route 20 as part of the annual initiative, “Flags for our Fallen,” organized by the Worcester-based organization,? Valiant Veterans. This year, helping to plant the flags were Sgt. Juan Valdez, who received a Purple Heart for injuries suffered in Iraq as well as U.S. Marine Marc Nicholas.

The flags will be on display until Flag Day, June 14. For more information visit flagsforourfallen.org.
