Obit-Flag_USE-THIS-ONE4Hudson – Ralph W. “Walter” Thomas Jr., 89, of Hudson, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014 at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Northborough. He was the loving husband of the late Virginia C. (Gardner) Thomas, who died in 1994.

Ralph was born in Marlborough, son of the late Ralph and Grace (King) Thomas. He was a WWII and Korean War veteran, serving in the U.S. Army, 24th Infantry Division, until being honorably discharged in 1952. He was a longtime resident of Hudson.

He worked for the U. S. Postal Service, Hudson branch, for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the V.F.W in Hudson, the Disabled American Veterans” Post 82 in Marlborough, the 24th Infantry Association.

He is survived by his two nephews, Dr. Ronald Davis and his wife Gail of Harrisonburg, Va. and Dr. Victor Davis and his wife Marlene of Mt. Airey, Md. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Norma Gardner of Northborough, and his great-nieces and great-nephews.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, Sept. 28, at 9 a.m., in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home of Hudson.
