New director for River’s Edge Youth Chorus

Hudson/Marlborough – The River’s Edge Arts Alliance announced the appointment of a new choral director for the River’s Edge Youth Chorus. Lifelong resident of Hudson, Lisa Schliker, has a degree in music education from the Hartt School, University of Harford, and is currently the music director for the First United Methodist Church of Hudson’s Adult Choir, Hand Bell Choir and past director for the Children’s Choir. She served the Marlborough Community Chorus as music director and teaches private voice lessons. She is a member of the River’s Edge Chorale, and has been a member of the Acton Community Chorus, Worcester Chorus and A Cappella Singers in Natick.

Schliker is an accomplished soprano and is committed to promoting music education and appreciation through choral singing. In addition to her musical talents, she is employed by Bose Corporation, is an avid runner and golfer, and a certified spin instructor.

The River’s Edge Youth Chorus rehearsals are Mondays from 6:30-8:15 p.m. in the Hudson High School Chorus Room. Rehearsals resume Sept. 29 and the first two rehearsals are open to any interested student ages 8-18.

The fall 2014 session will culminate in the Holiday Concert on Sunday, Dec. 14. The concert with feature the River’s Edge Community band together with the River’s Edge Chorale and Youth Chorus. For a registration form or more information, call 978-562-1646 or visit upwitharts.org.
